Mr. Norton practiced as an international commercial lawyer in Washington and Atlanta, principally representing British and Japanese clients in merger and acquisition activities in the United States. While practicing in China from 1999-2005, he advised foreign investors on foreign direct investment into China, joint ventures, and M&A deals in China. As a litigator, Mr. Norton has also handled a broad range of international commercial disputes, including disputes arising out of international sales under the Convention on the International Sale of Goods, documentary and standby letters of credit, and shareholder and joint venture agreements. Mr. Norton was a co-editor of both editions of the ABA's best-selling International Lawyer's Deskbook. He served for three years as the publications editor of the ABA's Section of International Law, supervising a broad range of publications on international commercial matters and disputes.
